In addition to exciting solid-state lasers, high-power diode lasers provide a lightsource of unique efficiency that is also more and more frequently employed to
directly heat or process various materials.
Applications include the selective soldering or plastic welding using diode laser
light instead of other heat input techniques.
This technology yields considerable advantages in many applications:
- Spatially focused heating effect, i.e. no thermal influence onto adjacent components
- Short heating times - no more lengthy heating of mechanical components
- No damage to thermally sensitive substrates
- Allows soldering and welding of contacts that are hard to access mechanically
- Easy to automate
- Non-contact heating process - no strain on sensitive mechanical components
- Simple precise temperature interlock
- Excellent quality of fused material areas.
Apart from offering a whole range of diode laser systems that are specifically matched
to dedicated soldering and welding applications, we gladly advise our customers who
wish to integrate diode laser systems in their manufacturing plants.
